Stiping and loading some top soil with a Kubota mini excavator

I need to move about 400 cubic feet of soil, but can’t get a mini excavator into my backyard because of the stairs and narrow space on the first level of the backyard, i.e. the smallest Bobcat 316 won’t do. I need something smaller.

If they make walk-behind excavators, that would be ideal and I’d appreciate some links.

If you know, please also include where I can rent them from in the SF Bay Area.

It needs to be something that a few folks can lift, due to the stairs. The walk-behind skid steer is cool, but I still can’t get it up the flight of wooden stairs though.
